The Ant in Search of Her Leg
I found this folktale the most interesting of the three that I read because of the comparison of power. In the folktale the ant lost her leg in the snow because her leg was stuck in the snow so the ant told the snow to let her leg go, but the snow couldn't because there was another superior thing to the snow so the snow told the ant to go elsewhere. Everywhere the ant went the object or thing told her to go another higher power until the ant eventually went to "Death" and "Death" said that God is stronger than me, and God has higher power of all and I'm Catholic so I can relate to this because I go to Church and every Sunday. God's answer to the little ant was "When you leave it again, you will have your leg" and the ant went home happy.

I do agree with you on your statement and understanding of the story but can you agree that the story does actually have a deeper meaning? Maybe that everyone, no matter how high they may be, has a superior.
ReplyDeletePawel, I agree with you but I think you should reread your work out loud to make it easier to understand.
